Rogoznica

A protected bay on the Dalmatian coast
About the town

Rogoznica is, by reputation, one of the most beautiful towns on the Dalmatian coast. A protected bay, water that is exceptionally clear, pine-scented air from the headlands, and a slow rhythm that has not yet been overrun by mass tourism.

The town sits on a small peninsula between Split and Šibenik. The main beach, directly in front of The Beachhouse, runs for several hundred metres along the bay, with white pebbles and turquoise shallows. The water is consistently ranked among the clearest on the Croatian coast, and the bay is sheltered enough that the sea stays calm even on windy days.

A pedestrian promenade follows the seafront from the house round to the old town and harbour, a twenty-five-minute walk away. Along the promenade are jet ski rental, an inflatable water park for children in summer, and a string of casual day restaurants serving grilled fish and Dalmatian platters direct from the water.

Marina Frapa, one of the largest and most awarded marinas on the Adriatic, is a ten-minute walk away, useful for chartering a yacht for the day, or simply for a long lunch among the boats. The town’s main church, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, holds Sunday Mass at 10:00 and weekday Mass at 16:30.

How to reach Rogoznica

By plane

The two nearest international airports are well connected to most European hubs.

  • Split Airport (SPU), 30 km, about a 30-minute drive.
  • Zadar Airport (ZAD), 105 km, about 1 h 15 min drive.

For the transfer from the airport, two options we recommend:

  • Chauffeured transfer with Blacklane. Pre-book a black-car pickup, fixed price, English-speaking driver, no negotiation at the kerb.
  • Rent a car from Sixt Croatia at the airport. Best option if you want freedom to explore the coast at your own pace, drive to Split or Šibenik for an evening, head north to Krka, or south for the islands. Cars can be returned at any Sixt location in Croatia.

By private jet

For travellers arriving by private aviation, GlobeAir operates the largest fleet of light jets in Europe. Split Airport (SPU) is the closest and best option, 30 minutes from the house. A typical hop from Munich, Zurich or Vienna lands in under 90 minutes. From the apron, a Blacklane transfer or rented car brings you to the house within the hour.

By car

The Beachhouse sits on the main coastal corridor between northern and southern Croatia, ten minutes from the A1 motorway, the spine of the country. The drive is straightforward and scenic.

Approximate driving distances and times:

  • Šibenik, 35 km, 30 min
  • Split, 53 km, 55 min
  • Zagreb, 370 km, 3 h 50 min
  • Vienna, ~720 km, 7 h 30 min
  • Munich, ~920 km, 9 h 30 min
  • Zurich, ~1,150 km, 11 h 30 min

The nearest A1 motorway exit is Šibenik, about 40 minutes away by road.

From Šibenik: after the motorway exit, follow signs toward Rogoznica, turn right, continue straight to the roundabout, take the first exit, and continue toward Marina Frapa.

From Split: follow the coastal road toward Rogoznica, turn left, continue straight to the roundabout, take the first exit, and continue toward Marina Frapa.

The final approach to the house is by foot along the pedestrian promenade, parking arrangements are confirmed on booking.
